On September 30, the police arrested four accused in the case of knife attack and firing on a youth near Masoodabad intersection in Bannadevi police station area in Aligarh. Two knives and two pistols have been recovered from their possession.
On the night of 19 September, Arif, a resident of Nai Basti, was standing with his two friends near the Masoodabad intersection. Meanwhile, the accused attacked Arif several times with a knife. When he ran to escape, he fired four-five rounds from the pistol. A bullet had touched Arif’s head and exited. The police have arrested an accused in this case and sent him to jail.
Inspector in-charge Bannadevi Pankaj Kumar Mishra said that the police have arrested Zubair alias Khanna, resident of Fafala Market, Azad, resident of Babdi Mandi, Kamran, resident of Shahjamal and Talib, resident of Jangalgarhi, from the ground in front of the Municipal Corporation Workshop. One pistol each was recovered from Zubair and Azad and one knife each was recovered from Kamran and Talib. Five cases are registered against Zubair including gangster. The names of some other accused in the attack on the youth have come to light, teams are engaged in their search.
